Bible Study Lesson Plans

Although not the most glamorous part of teaching a Bible study, lesson plans are an important part of a successful Bible study. Lesson plans help you gather your thoughts into a concise way to help your Bible study get the most out of their time.

One of the biggest objections I’ve heard people use to get themselves out of a Bible study is that they don’t have the time. I understand the objection- sometimes it feels like all I do is work, eat, and sleep. I don’t feel like I have time for a Bible study either.

But what if the problem isn’t that people don’t have time to attend a Bible study, but that the Bible studies they have attended in the past were disorganized and had no clear focus in the lesson? It could easily feel like a waste of time.

This is why Bible study lesson plans are so important. A clear lesson plan provides a clear goal for the Bible study. Lesson plans can also help keep the Bible study on topic. The goal of a good Bible study lesson plan is to make the most of people’s precious time so they will not only learn as much as possible but see the value in making the Bible study an important part of their week.

The Christ and Culture Survey is a Bible study worksheet with lesson plans that help you lead your small group. It gives suggestions on how to best conduct the survey and even provides some open-ended discussion questions to get your group thinking about how they approach Christ and Culture. Whether your Bible study is made up of women or men, adults or youth they will all learn something new.

Of course, you are not required to follow the Bible study lesson plans I have written when you are teaching the Bible study. Have you found a better way to lead this Bible study? I’d like to learn from your lesson plans as you lead this Bible study. Please leave your best lesson plans in the comments below so we can all learn from your experience.

Take the Christ and Culture Survey yourself to see what you might expect from this Bible study.
