They usually talk more about someone’s concept of machisimo than drawing me closer to Christ. It’s like they use Jesus as an excuse to promote their adjenda of what it means to be a man. Many of these are examples of Christ of Culture for mixing culture’s idea of what it means to be a man, with Christ.
Sometimes it feels like a publishers of a men’s Bible study doesn’t think that men can handle much. It’s like they feel a men’s Bible study has to talk about things than men are supposed to like- sports, work and nudity. Now I like those things as much as any other man, I suppose, but isn’t there more to being men than that? Why can’t a Bible study be a little deeper.
That’s why Christ and Culture is a good choice of topics for a men’s Bible study. There is a foundational depth to this Bible study but enough every day application that you could find examples in sports, work and more. Perhaps this Bible study worksheet is the topic your men would like to study in the next men’s bible study at your church?
Of course, this Bible study is not limited to men. Women’s Bible studies, youth, families and even Sunday Schools classes will get something out of this printable Bible study.
