Politician Priest

Father Robert Drinan, the first Catholic priest to be elected to Congress, has died. Honestly, I had never heard about him until I heard his “obituary” on NPR today but his is a very interesting story (I’ll let you read it on the NPR site, rather than try to summarize it myself).

Whatever you think of his politics and opinions, you have to agree that he is an example of Christ Transforming Culture for trying to change the world for the better. One does not have to engage in politics to be an example of this perspective, but he must have thought it the best way at the time to accomplish his goals and make the world a better place for everyone.
