I was at the store recently and came across this beautiful clock! When I see things like this I always wonder why people buy them. I can’t imagine that someone who would put this up would have only one picture of Jesus in their home- do they think that our world would be a better place if there were pictures of Jesus everywhere? I’ve met people who put an ichthus ("jesus-fish") on their car because they think they are witnessing to others. Do these same people think that they can evangelize their friends through a clock with Jesus on it?
There’s still enough of a puritan in me that makes me want to smash idolatrous images of Christ like this. This is partially because anglicized pictures of Jesus are one of my dad’s pet peeves. This is also because I personally saw how destructive idols are when I visited Latin America.
This time I was able to resist reverting into a proto-puritan state and not destroy this idol- mainly because I didn’t want to have to pay for it!

Bravo! We put these products on our walls, on our cars, etc. and then we seriously wonder why the world thinks we are out of touch. Put the clock on your wall and you simply prove you've finally lost touch.
Here's one to add to the list: Sprit Filled T-shirts (http://holycowablog.com/?p=46)an example of what I would consider the worst 'christian' product in existence.
I linked from b2evo forums.
Good question. Idols are indeed an interesting topic. Unfortunately, as you say, some people are just too idol-listic...
We have to be careful.
